Afton spent her birthday weekend playing in a volleyball tournament in St. Louis! She and Jeff had a lot of fun with the team. And on the morning of her 'actual birthday' she even got a “happy birthday hit” .
Of course when she got back in town, we had to celebrate her birthday for real! So I organized a group of her friends to meet us a Grimaldi's for a surprise dinner. Jeff and Afton came straight from the airport to the restaurant. She was delighted!
On Monday, Afton skipped school for her DMV appointment to get her permit. Then I took her to lunch and shopping. Plus a little driving practice. What a fun, exciting and slightly scary adventure it is to have a teenage girl!
