My People

Here is what my people are like -- right now.

Afton - age 11, 6th grade, about 5 feet 1 inch. She is almost as tall as me!! She is on the dance team at school, is in a jazz class and a tumbling class. She plays rec basketball and volleyball. Her BFF is Landry. She adores Maisy. Her favorite treat is Pretzel M&M's. She likes office and school supplies, wearing leggings and t-shirts, and doing good in school.

Maisy- age 7 (almost 8), in 2nd grade, taller than last year. Desperately wants to be as big as Afton. She is still dancing classical ballet with the Russians, her goal is to be on pointe. She is taking a gymnastics class, a ballet class, on MP Cheer, and visits her tutor Ms. Pat once a week. Everyone is her BFF. She loves caring for people. Her favorite treat is chocolate ice cream. She likes dolls, stuffed animals and babies. She likes to look fancy- heels and dresses. She is working very hard this year, learning more and more dyslexia and how to succeed with it.

And this guy... he is 40 years old (almost 41). He is just trying to keep all three of his ladies happy. And he does a very good job of it! He likes taking Afton to basketball and volleyball. He loves paddle boarding and really wants to buy a boat. His favorite treat is a Starbucks coffee each morning and a handful of whole wheat Goldfish in the evening. He makes the best homemade bread and loves to grill/cook when he has the time. He likes to work out daily, research things on the ipad, be outside, and if he has time--- relax.

Silver Dance Team- First Half Time Routine

Afton has been enjoying her dance team. It has been a fun way to meet friends and get involved on campus. They performed at the football game last week. It was a great half time show! She has jumped right in at CTMS- also doing the Art Club and was chosen to be on the Student Council.

All of the sudden it feels like she has grown up!

Family Celebration Time

We have been lucky enough to get a lot of family time lately with cousins and grandparents! We hosted Hawkins' first birthday party at our house. He is so cute!

Then over Labor Day weekend -Amanda and her precious family came into town, we so had them all over for swimming and lunch too.

I celebrated my mom's birthday with lunch at Anamia's and shopping one day while the girls were in school.

And we celebrated Grandma's birthday with dinner and a game of Mexican Train!

It seems like everyone in this family has a fall birthday! I am predicting more celebrations soon!

Paddle Boarding and a Family Service Project

We are still loving our paddle boards. We have taken them out twice with the girls since we got back from California. And once, Jeff and I just went by ourselves! It's fun to on the water.

And my little Horned Frog cuties helped Jeff and I with a family service project. We made sack lunches for the Hurricane Harvey evacuees that were staying at the convention center in Dallas. We did 50 lunches, each contained 2 PBJ sandwiches, 1 bag of chips, 2 cookies, 1 piece of fruit, and 1 napkin. The girls loved helping and it felt good to do a family project together.

MP Cheer Pep Rally

This is the first season Afton isn't doing MP Cheer-- she had a good run, 6 years! But she finally aged out. So Maisy and I are beginning year 7 together. I try my best to make it better each season. This time I organized a big pep rally for the entire GCYFA program. We invited cheerleaders from both high schools, and all the MP football players and cheerleaders (and their families).

The season is off to a great start and Maisy is having a blast cheering with all her friends.

Go MP!!
