A Broken Fingers and Stitches

I can't believe we made it this long without an ER trip. But all good things must come to an end. And although I always though Afton's adventorous spirit would land her in the hospital, it was my careful little Maisy that ended up there.

On a quiet Monday morning she was playing under a small end table the Coco. Somehow they knocked it over and the tabletop or the items on it fell on her hand. It fractured her middle finger and essentially 'blew out' the end of her ring finger.

The blood made me sick! Good thing Jeff was home.

And now sweet Maisy is getting all kinds of sympathy for her tiny cast.

The doctor put a hard hot pink cast on it and said after 3 weeks, we should be able to remove it.

Since it is on her right hand, she is learning to do all sorts of things with her left hand. I have impressed with her positive attitude about the entire thing. And the good thing is, the cast will be off in time for her big dance recital and swimming pool season.

Bless her heart!

Easter 2013

This was an especially good Easter. We had attended the Maundy Thursday and the music was amazing. Afton went to The Rock (youth church room) for the "Jr Maundy Thursday" service. She was a little nervous to go in, but ended up having a blast. She learned a lot about the Easter story, socialized with friends and made a"He Is Risen" keychain.

I felt like we all had a good chance to 're-experience' the Easter story. So on Sunday, we were ready to go church and celebrate the resurrection. After we church, we went to Grammy's house for a 'picnic themed' lunch. Fried chicken, fruit, deviled eggs, potato salad, and fruity desserts.

The girls were happy to see Grammy and Gramps and Ryan and Tessa. Uncle Jade, Aunt Jenn and cousins Analeigh and Emmie came too. After dying eggs, we ate lunch. Then headed outside for the egg hunt.

Afton seemed to find the most eggs...

but everyone had fun hunting.

Then the girls played and played. The weather was perfect.

Happy Easter!
