Back to School (IN Person!)

After spending the first 9 weeks at home, we decided it was time to try 'in person' learning. Too many webex meetings and time on the computer were making everyone a little stir crazy. So with a mask and prayer, these girls headed into school for the first time since March.

It's definitely not the same that it was before COVID. But nothing is. The girls wear masks all day. The high school is at 40 percent capacity. Afton has really small classes because most high school kids prefer to learn from home right now (all day access to the kitchen at home and Netflix!). But she says she feels better getting out of the house. Her teachers are juggling teaching remote and in-person learners... at the same time! Maisy's school is about 70 percent in-person. She sits behind a plastic barrier all day and says her teacher can't do one-on-one teaching because she is not allowed 'to breathe' on Maisy. But there is lunch with friends and art, recess and music. Maisy said she didn't feel like she learning anything from the computer at home. So we are just moving forward and praying for health and happiness every day they are at school.
