VBS, Father's Day, And All Things Summer '16

Our first full week of summer break was spent at VBS. I was Maisy's guide and I loved it. We had 18 kids in our group and they were all so sweet.

Afton and her friends were at VBX- which is a grown-up version of VBS especially for 5th & 6th graders.

It was a good week.

Maisy started dancing again- at a new studio. She is doing a 'ballet intensive' class. It is 90 minutes of ballet and stretching. So far, she likes it. She will continue with it all summer.

We have been enjoying playing outside and just being together. The girls are at a really fun age.

On Father's Day we went to church and then had the 'dads' over for swimming & lunch.

We have been beating the heat by getting out early and swimming a lot. The Grapevine Botanical Garden is one of Maisy's favorite parks. We did an early lunch then played in the grass and on the playground.

And 'oh happy day'! Maisy decided she was ready to ride her bike! Her motivation was to be able to ride in the neighborhood 4th of July Parade. She will be ready! (Watching your last baby learn to ride a bike-- waaaaaahhhhh!)

We have been spending lots of time friends too. The girls and I, plus Hanna spent a day at Dove Waterpark. It was so much fun. They talked me into riding all the slides, jumping off the diving board, and getting my hair wet. Lol. Young people make you feel young.

And Jeff and I pretended we were young-- and went to a theme party. It was actually an anniversary/wedding vow renewal ceremony. But with a 'red neck' twist.

And then there are these pics. Summer is good!

:) :)
