Kindergarten & 4th Grade

Yikes! Both my kids are in school, full time! Maisy has been a champ so far with Kindergarten. She is liking the whole big girl responsibility thing. (Getting up to an alarm clock, making her bed, getting dressed, packing her backpack.)

It's nice to have both girls together at the same school!

Afton had a really easy start. I am SO thankful that she has really, really sweet teachers with soft voices :) And her class is filled with quiet kids. I am hoping for a no-stress year for my girl. She is such a good girl and tries so hard.

Favorite Activity: Crafting

Luckily there were no tears at drop off (me included!) Both girls were comfortable & confident. They walked right into their classes.

Truth be told, I was a basket case the night before. I cried and ended up waking up at 4am, unable to get back to sleep. I went on a run and then got the girls ready for school. I was only able to hold it together that morning because I hosted the "Yahoo Breakfast" for the PTA. Serving food, taking photos, meeting new parents-- it all kept me busy and smiling. (Do you like my emoji signs? I speak fluent emoji :) )

And before I knew it- the time had come to pick up Maisy! (Kinder gets our early the first 3 days of school.) We met some other Kinder friends and had lunch out. It was a great celebration of the first day. They were all really happy and Maisy loves her class.

I think it's going to be a good year.
