Memorial Day Weekend

It was almost summer-- so we had a few friends and family over for a Memorial Day cook-out.

Birthday Celebration for the 33 year old

Guess who is 33?!  Me :) I celebrated with some friends from MOPS. 

And then on my actual birthday, Jeff and the girls took me shoe shopping at Nordstroms and then to dinner at my favorite place. Joe's T Garcias in Fort Worth. 

After we ate, we walked around the gardens. Silly girls posed for photos everywhere...

The night ended with a special "Jeff-made" chocolate cake. 

It was a good birthday :)

The End of First Grade

This year flew by, I guess they all will now that she is in elementary school.

Here was the first day of 1st Grade

She ended the year a bit taller and with less teeth :) 

First Grade Wrapped up with Field Day. Her relay and the tug of war team won first place. She had SO much fun.

They also had a special 'fairy tale' day to wrap up a unit study about fairy tales. Afton wanted to be Wendy so 'she could read stories to the Lost Boys' :)

I embarrassed her by asking her to take a photo with Austin "Peter Pan". "M-OM!"

 First grade was full of so many fun memories-- I really enjoyed seeing all the amazing things she can now do. Writing and reading are her strongest subjects. She was one of only three students to score a perfect "6" on her writing. I am so proud of our girl.

On the last day of school, we invited neighborhood friends over for swimming, pizza and popsicles. We are all excited for summer! 

Maisy's Spring Recital

I love dance recitals. The costumes, make-up, music, and dancing. I love it all. In May, Maisy had her first big dance recital.

She did a tap and ballet routine. Both to songs from "Mary Poppins".

The tap routine was to "It's A Jolly Holiday with Mary". 

The ballet was to "Chim Chimney"-- it included little brooms and news-boy style hats. Ah-dorable.

Maisy liked dressing up and dancing. But she told me after the show, "it would have been more fun if they had food there".

So with a hungry belly, she did her best. (In my defense, I did pack goldfish for backstage, she just chose not to eat them!) Here are her dance videos. Pretty good for a 3 year old :) who is starving. Lol.

Mother's Day 2013

We were lucky enough to celebrate Mother's Day (about a week late- but who cares!) with both my sisters and my mom. I think this is the first time we have had all of our kids together at once.

It is so fun to see everyone all together.

Afton helped us out by taking some photos with my 'good camera'. 

She liked being 'the photographer' so much, she decided to snap a ton of pictures of anyone who would stand still long enough :)
