Our sweet friend Jamaica hosted a "Nutcracker Cast Party" for the girls. I loved all the treats, crafts, and decor. It was right up Maisy's alley- and mine too!

4th Grade Christmas Doors!
My friend Regina and I thought our kiddos needed some Christmas cheer- so we decorated their teacher's doors. Since we had to do 5 doors, we wanted to do something that did not involve wrapping the entire door. I think these Reindeer were simple and fun!
NCL Christmas Tea 2019 & Holiday Party
I like any excuse to get dressed up :) The NCL Mother-Daughter Christmas Tea is the perfect occasion. And look at my beautiful grown up girl!

Thanksgiving in Washington D.C
For Thanksgiving, we decided to get out of town and take the girls on an adventure. We flew to Washington D.C. for the week. Up and at em at 4am for our flight! We really impressed ourselves by getting everything into carry-on luggage.

Pre-Thanksgiving at Mimi's
Since we would be in Washington D.C. for Thanksgiving, we did an 'early celebration' at Mimi's house. The weather was perfect for playing outdoors- basketball, archery, and paddling around the pond. We also got to celebrate Analeigh's 10th birthday. It was a fun day!
Maisy' Red Ribbon Poster
Each year, our elementary school does a poster contest for "Red Ribbon Week". Maisy worked very hard on her poster this year. She was determined to win! The theme for her school was "Lego of Bad Choices".

Veteran's Day & November Fun
We celebrated those who serve our country with a patriotic program at HES. Maisy was so excited to sing- she practiced at home all week. Notice Maisy is wearing her official ’Veterans Day’ skirt?? It's the same skirt she has worn every year for Veterans Day since Kindergarten- she is in 4th grade now! Hoping to continue the tradition next year!!
Halloween 2019
Halloween was 'divide and conquer' this year. Afton had a volleyball tournament in Coppell so Jeff went with her, while I go to trick-or-treat with Maisy. She was a super scary vampire - with real fangs!
Jeff's 43rd Birthday
For Jeff's birthday, we did a little 'stay-cation' at the Gaylord. After we dropped the girls off at school on Friday, we went shopping, had lunch out, and then got massages. We had dinner while watching the World Series and then popped in at the Glass Cactus for a bit. It was a nice little break!
Swan Lake & the Butterfly Flutterby
Several of the moms from Maisy's ballet school organized an evening at Swan Lake in Richardson. We had dinner prior to the show and then watched the Russian Ballet Theater perform Swan Lake. It was beautiful and the girls had so much fun!

NCL, Pumpkin Patch, & Walking for Papa
Afton invited me to be a 'guest crafter' for her NCL meeting. (I know! I was honored she suggested me. lol. Teenagers!) So I worked with another mom to come up with a craft that would be meaningful and fun for 8th grade girls. We decided on bullet journals. I enjoyed spending time with her and these girls.

8th Grade VB, Homecoming Parades, and a Cabbage
Fall in middle school means a lot of volleyball. Afton was happy to be with her friends, but she really missed Coach Weeks this year.

Cowboys Stadium & MP Cheer 2019
MP Cheer made our annual trip to Cowboys Stadium. This never gets old for Maisy- she loves it. She loves the cheerleader's locker room, she loves performing on the field, she loves it all!
Labor Day Weekend 2019
Who doesn't love the lake? We rented a 'transient' slip for the Labor Day weekend. We spent Friday on the lake (after a big rainstorm it turned into a beautiful night!), had dinner at Big Daddy's, and watched the Fireworks.

NCL Kick-Off 2019
Afton and I went to the annual NCL Kick-Off Meeting at Neiman's. There was a fashion show, prizes, and shopping. I was lucky enough to win a $200 gift card to NM! We had fun seeing our friends and checking out the latest fashion trends.
Back to School- 4th and 8th Grade
All good things must come to an end... even summer break. So when August 19th rolled around, the girls went back to school.
Dog Days of Summer
Summer was still going- and there was still fun to be had.

Colorado Trip 2019
For our big summer adventure, we decided to travel to Colorado to visit Grammy and experience the mountains. We did a Colorado trip a few years ago, but we wanted to go back again now that the girls are older. I kept a 'travel journal' to document our trip.
Day 1: When in Amarillo... Cadillac Ranch! Turns out both my girls have dreams of being graffiti artists when they grow up 🤣. The sun was setting as we got there and with that wind blowing- it made for a beautiful evening. We were gifted two cans of spray paint by some kids. So we made our addition to this iconic landmark. It was like a group art project - with strangers. I couldn’t get over that big Texas sky.

Finally- on the Lake!
We have had record rain around here. The lake is over 16 feet above normal levels. But on June 30th- we finally got to take our boat out, the first time all summer! With all the rain, our lake has been too high to put in. But finally it was our day! Sunshine, swimming, wake boarding, friends and smooth water.

Summer Volleyball
Both my girls are playing Summer Volleyball. Afton did a 6 week program through Integrity, her team ended up winning the entire tournament. They were the Middle School Summer League Champs!

Back to Cinnamon Shores- in 2019
It's been a few years since the girls went on a beach trip. They have been on the lake a ton, but not to an actual beach. So we planned a trip to our favorite Texas beach! We got on the road right after VBS ended on Thursday and drove down to Port Aransas. Took the ferry to the beautiful Cinnamon Shore. Afton brought her friend McCall. We were all excited to spend a few days relaxing on the Texas coast!

Kicking Off Summer 2019
Greetings from the magestic Mountasia! A friendly round of putt-putt lead to a lot of laughs. Afton provided most of today’s comic relief. Think we’re almost ready to join the pro tour.

Fourth of July - Parade and fun!
Fourth of July 2019 ! Started the day at our neighborhood parade. Such a cute patriotic tradition with family & friends. Then we swam, grilled out, and put on our little fireworks show at home. Grateful for a fun day in the greatest country!

Wrapping up school & Stay-Cation at Gaylord with Family
Best day of the year- Field Day! Maisy enjoyed a day of fun in the sun. And Afton did too (but no pics of that part because #middleschool ). I did get a photo through the grate on the balcony of her getting the Wolf Award for Language Arts. Go Conner Girls!

Spring Flowers, Fashion, and School Adventures
Maisy and some of her WCKids friends got together for Humanity Missions - they planted flowers in front of Founders Chapel after church one Sunday. Maisy has really enjoyed going to Sunday School and helping with mission projects once a month after church this year. Love to see her spreading joy by beautifying our church.
Easter 2019
We kicked off the Easter weekend with volunteering for NCL. Even though Maisy is not an official "NCL Ticktocker" until 6th grade- she is always happy to come along. We had a super fun day at The Delaney Vineyards Easter Egg Hunt. Afton and I worked the popcorn booth for over four hours and met so many nice people from the Colleyville Lions Club. Maisy was thrilled to find her friend Lucy was there too! (And in the end we almost adopted a rescue dog named ‘Jon Snow’.) Thankful for this beautiful day with my girls.

On Palm Sunday, we went to church and lunch with Grandpa and Grandma. Afterwards we took a family walk, dyed Easter eggs, and put on a little Conner Family Easter Egg Hunt.
Family Fun in April
Afton and I went to our first Senior Recognition Dinner for NCL. It was so fun to get dressed up and have dinner with our NCL friends. The girls graduating shared their stories and the whole night was so inspiring- to Afton & me!

Afton turns 13!
Our baby is 13 years old! Afton is smart, funny, athletic, organized, and so brave. She inspires me. Today she got her own checking account with a checkbook 🙌🏻! I know it should be a day where I feel sad that she is growing up... but I am excited for her! Every year is a gift. I can’t wait to see what year 13 holds for this girl.
McCall 2019- Ski Trip
Ski Trip Day 1- We flew into Boise on Saturday night, then drove to McCall on Sunday morning. We unpacked and headed to Brundage Mountain. I was happily surprised that it was warm enough to have lunch on the patio! Who knew 30 degrees could feel so good 😊. The three Conner girls took a “half day refresher course” with the best ski instructors. And Afton and I officially moved up to ‘blues’. It was such a fun day of sunshine and skiing.

3rd Grade Field Trip + New Cheer Squad!
Field Trip to the greatest city in Texas.... Grapevine! Loved exploring the history of our small town with these fun third graders. My favorite part was learning about the “Grapevine Foundry”- creating sculptures is super cool. Beautiful day to be outside. Bring on Spring Break!
Grammy Visits
We have missed Grammy since the big move to Colorado. So we were thrilled when she came into town for a week. There were lots of fun events while she was here!

Valentines 2019
Valentines was busy around here!
We put together 2,151 “candy grams” for CTMS students. I think that’s a record! Kids purchased the notes/treats for their friends. PTA assembles the candy grams, then checks the list of sales before delivering -to make sure every student gets at least one. I love this about our school. Everyone gets a Valentine.
And we spoiled the teachers with a “Sweet Treat Bar” today. Bundtinis and fruit for all! Our staff is ‘nothing Bundt amazing’ ❤️❤️❤️. It’s was a Happy Valentines Day at CTMS.
7th Grade Basketball
Basketball was a long season! From November thru February. But it was such a GOOD season. We saw so much improvement in all the girls. And we had so much fun cheering them on.
CTMS Cheer Dinner
Such a fun year with CTMS Cheer! We celebrated the girls at BJ's with dinner & dessert, autograph megaphones, awards and lots of pictures. Thankful for awesome coaches, sweet friends and cheer mommas! #cheerLEADERS #thewolfway
FW StockShow & Rodeo
We were feeling a little bit country - because you know... we live in Texas. So we took the girls to the FW StockShow & Rodeo. We did all the things. The rides, the food, the animals and of course the rodeo.

Maisy Lou Jan. 2019
Maisy got a date night with Jeff and I one Saturday night, since Afton was a friend's birthday party. We took her out for pizza. And then to a winery... but it was early and we knew the musician. (It's Afton's basketball coach!)
Father Daughter Dance 2019
The annual tradition is back---the "Father Daughter Dance"! Afton had an event at school, the "7th Grade Social" followed by a trip to Doughlicious with her friend McCall.
