Labor Day 2012- Texas Hill Country

After the fun we had together last year, we decided to head off on another Labor Day trip with Jeff's family. This time we packed up the kids and drove to the Texas Hill Country. We stayed at the JW Marriott- and I cannot say enough good things about it.

It was so fun to see all the grandkids together. (Trying to get a pic of all them proved a little difficult!)

Luke- the lone man

Taylor and Afton- the big girls

Maisy and Analeigh- our tiny dancers

and Emmie- the one everyone wants to hold!

The resort had everything. We never even left the property. Swimming pools, water slides, restaurants, bars, and a million activities for families.  We spent most of our time at the pool.

Favorite activities included decorating ducks for the race down the lazy river.

The kids loved the animal show too- how often do you see a snake, a parrot, a sloth, and a porcupine in lobby of a hotel?

The food was good too. We loved our big breakfasts, lunches by the pool, dinners on the lawn, and late dessert with live music.

We also got to watch a movie while swimming one night, gazed up at Saturn and the Moon on huge telescopes, and watched Afton roll around in giant hamster ball.

The best part of course, was just being together.

Hope we get to do it again next year!

Fourth of July 2011

Three full days of celebrating the Fourth of July... and today I needed a nap! Here is what got me so tired :)

On Saturday we had over a few friends and family for a swim/cook-out.

It seems all of our college friends are now proud parents. So the totals at this party were 15 adults and 14 kiddos, they almost have us out-numbered!!!

On Sunday we went to Town Square for crafts, games (Afton loves them!) and the fireworks.

Afton is still over-coming her fireworks fear. But by the end of the night, she was able to enjoy them, with her ears plugged :)

Happily, she still is the "Sparkler Queen".

Maisy loved it all. She ran around like a crazy woman.

Sunday we spent the day eating and swimming at my Mom's house.

And the 4th wouldn't have been complete without some pool volleyball.

Hope you had a great weekend too :)
