The Season begins...
Our sports kicked off this weekend! First, soccer for Maisy and Jeff. The Unicorns have reunited. (A few weeks ago we held a party to get everyone excited for the season. ) And now, armed with new pink jerseys, a team mascot and cool socks--- the Unicorns are ready to dominate the U5 division of CSA. Despite record high temperatures and intolerable humidity, they rocked their first game.
Water balloons were distributed at the end of the game to celebrate. Watch out Coach!

Next, it was time to cheer. Both girls suited up and sprayed their hair with glitter for the occasion.
The girls cheered less than one quarter before lightening and severe weather sirens ended the game. But they had fun while it lasted.
There's always next week! And who knows-- by then it might actually be cooler ;)

Soccer for Maisy
Maisy has a new sport, soccer. And a sport like soccer is only fun if you have a really good coach. Luckily we found one ... and this group of 6 girls have had the best season as "Unicorns". They are all newbies to the sport, but what they lack in skill they made up for in bounciness :)
The end of season party was held at a 'dine in' moving theater. The girls watched the new Tinkerbelle movie, ate popcorn-pizza-and-cupcakes, and got trophies! Each girl was given a special 'certificate' too- Maisy won the "Soccer Princess Award" ;)
It was a great season and we are hoping to get everyone together again, under the direction of Coach Jeff, and have another run as the Unicorns ;)

The Dancing Tazmaniac
February has flown by. For Valentines Day, the Kindergarten classes at Afton's school put on a "Valentine's Tea" complete with a little dancing. The kids learned a few steps of the Waltz, the Tango, the Chicken Dance, the Hand Jive and even some YMCA. All the kids came dressed in their 'best clothes'.
After the dancing, they practiced their best manners and ate mini-fondu and other sweet treats. Her teacher made the party so special and fancy.
Maisy was thrilled when Afton came home from school with a box full of candy-- especially because Afton was so willing to share her treats!
Yesterday, Afton had her first soccer game of the season. This is our second try for soccer, and so far, things are looking good. Her team name is the Tazmaniacs. They practice for an hour a week and then have a game every Saturday. The kids on the team on are fun and her coach is really great. Our friend Greta is on the team too.
Maisy has been enjoying soccer as well- especially because of the playground that is right next to the field :)
There is nothing better than fresh air, sunshine, and fun. Go Tazmaniacs!
