Maisy's Ballet Recital 2016

Maisy has danced at the MA Ballet School for the entire school year. On Sunday, her class performed a class at the the school's Spring Recital. The ballet instruction there cannot be beat. It is simply beautiful Russian dancing. The recital was held at TCU-- which made it feel even more special!

Clearly this child has a flair for the dramatic arts!  These poses are all her own doing.

She performed beautifully at the recital. It was so fun to watch. I think she has lots of years of dancing ahead of her.

The Nutcracker and Dallas Cowboys Stadium

Maisy has loved ballet since she started at the very young age of 2 and 11 months. So this semester, I enrolled her in a Russian Ballet School. The school only teaches ballet, they listen only to classical music, and they believe ballet is an art. Each winter, they perform the Nutcracker Ballet. And it is the real deal- professional dancing, costumes, sets and music. Maisy was cast as a 'baby clown'. Starting in August, the dancers have been preparing with weekly practices.

This past weekend, they had a 6 hour rehearsal on Friday, followed by two performances on Saturday.

Needless to say, she loved every minute of it.

Then on Sunday, Afton's cheer team, Fever, competed in the Dallas Cowboys Cheer Competition. Since her last competition, her team has been in the gym extra hours and days, adding complexity and difficulty to their routine.

The hard work paid off and these girls took first place out of ten teams. She was thrilled to win! They were even on the big screen at Jerry World!

It was a weekend full of hairspray, make-up, and lots of performing :) Both girls are already asking when the next show/competition will be :)
