Ski Trip Day 1- We flew into Boise on Saturday night, then drove to McCall on Sunday morning. We unpacked and headed to Brundage Mountain. I was happily surprised that it was warm enough to have lunch on the patio! Who knew 30 degrees could feel so good 😊. The three Conner girls took a “half day refresher course” with the best ski instructors. And Afton and I officially moved up to ‘blues’. It was such a fun day of sunshine and skiing.
Day 2- Skiing on our own today, no instructors! Maisy made it to the top of the mountain 🏔 with us and did some blues too. Afton and Jeff went off to tackle some more challenging runs. Then the Porters arrived! The girls played in the snow until dinner at Toll Station Pizza. Ended the night with some grocery shopping- which is always more fun with cousins 🤣.
Day 3- So much snow!! 🥶 4 inches of big fat snow flakes, windy cold temps, and almost no visibility at the top. But that didn’t stop us 💪🏻! The little girls worked with an instructor to perfect ‘their technique’, while Jenn and I got in some good cardio skiing. Afton kept up with Jeff and Jade, it was her best day yet! Ideal conditions?? Who needs ideal ideal conditions when you are a “mountain woman”!
Day 4- the sunshine returned!! 🌞 Lots of great skiing on beautiful fresh snow. Afton is Jeff’s ski partner now, I am proud of what a confident skier she has become this week. Maisy has been in “cousin heaven” - they are the cutest group of little ski bunnies on the mountain. After a full day in the snow, we went out for an ‘adults only’ dinner. Yummy food and great company.
Day 5- We skied again. I don’t even recognize my kids, they have become such confident ski bunnies! After a full day on the mountain, the girls went sledding. Dinner at home on the grill-steaks, shrimp and chicken.
Day 6- last day of our trip. We let the girls walk out on the frozen lake (that’s the first pic 🥶😬), shopped in downtown McCall, had the best lunch at @myfathersplace, went tubing, then did pizza & karaoke at Crustys Pizza McCall. Great ending to our trip. Catching our flight home in a few hours, I am sad the fun is over!
