Easter

This year, Afton was extra excited about Easter. We went to an egg hunt at TCU last weekend with the Mills, had an Easter party at Chapel Hill School and then traveled to Houston to spend Easter weekend with Jeff's family.


Sunday was the egg hunt at TCU. It was a very, very windy day!

The eggs weren't really hidden, just strewn across the campus lawn.

Afton actually ended up a bit sad that day. When the hunt started, she stopped and opened each egg she found. So by the time she had put 4 eggs in her basket, all of the other eggs were gone! But a trip to McDonald's for ice cream afterwards helped to restore her spirits :)

She loved the egg hunt at Chapel Hill. All of the eggs were numbered 1-12. Each kid was assigned a number and only hunted for eggs with that number. That way each child was ensured 12 eggs.

We went to Houston to see Jeff's sister, Jessie. She, Matt and Luke just moved into a house down there in January. This was the first time the entire family got to visit them.

Analeigh and Maisy are just 7 weeks apart.

We bravely took all of the kiddos out to the Houston golf tournament. This is what they looked like when we got home.

We bought all the babies and Afton matching outfits for their Easter present. So of course, we had to take pictures in those outfits.

Don't you just love the azaleas? Reminds me of spring in south Louisiana.

These pictures make me smile. It was hilarious trying to get all three babies and Afton in a picture. As you can see, Afton kept sneaking away....

On Easter morning, the Easter Bunny hid two giant eggs in the yard for our girls.

My Four Year Old

I couldn't let Afton's fourth birthday pass without posting something sweet about her... here is a list of things that I adore about my girl at this age.

Ten Things I Love About You
1. My Afton, you are so enthusiastic. Each day is new opportunity for fun and learning. You grab every moment and make the best of it.

2. You are so kind. You always ask Daddy how his day was at work. You share with all of your heart. You think about others and their feelings. Your heart is so big.

3. You are so smart! My dear Afton, you already know most of your letters. You love to write your name and the names of all the people you love. You can count, articulate yourself, and sing beautiful songs.

4. Your laughter is like the ringing of bells. The sound of it makes Maisy giggle too!

5. You are beautiful- your hair is wheat blonde and long. You love it long. Your eyes are a brilliant blue- just Daddy's and Maisy.

6. You call me "Momma". I hope you always do that.

7. You are fast! I love that you can run like the wind. It is amazing to see how athletic you are. (Although sometimes you run away from me!)

8. You have a nuturing personality. You love playing babies and taking care of your sister. Your favorite games are playing teacher, mommy, or Barbie family.

9. You are so social. You love meeting new people and going new places. Shyness is not a problem!

10. You are a good person and you try your best each day. I am so proud of you my Afton.

Tea with the Girls

Afton turns 4 on Sunday, so to celebrate we invited 8 of her girlfriends to join us at  "Let's Pretend Tea Parties"  for tea, dress-up, and cake on Friday morning. This is the same location that we had our "Big Sister Tea Party"- Afton loved it so much she was couldn't wait to have another party there.

The girls dressed-up in the finest princess dresses, got their make-up done, drank tea (complete with sugar cubes and milk), ate fancy treats, participated in a fashion show, paraded through downtown Grapevine, and finally watched Afton open presents.

This was the first year that she has really, really enjoyed presents. She wanted to 'read' each card, carefully open each gift, and then oooh/ahh over what was inside (even clothes!)

Maisy seemed to enjoy the party too. She was happy to be held by Kristie, Jennifer and Daddy.

Afton had such a wonderful time and received so many lovely gifts. It was the perfect way to celebrate being a "Big Girl"!
