Afton had several friends in her group and made some new ones too. The counselors all went by nicknames. Her counselors were Mumbles and Lilo. She loved them and already wants me to register her for next summer :)

Camp Thurman 2014
This was Afton's first summer at Camp Thurman. It is a Christian Day camp located in Pantego, TX. Several friends from church had recommended it to us, so this year we signed up! Camp registration opens in November-- we have been signed up since then.
Camp ran Monday-Friday from 9am til 3:30pm. Since camp is 30 minutes away, we carpooled with some friends. At camp, the kids were outside and busy the entire day. They swam, did crafts, watched skits, and went on lots of adventures like ropes courses, archery, swings and more.
Who doesn't love camp?!

Swim Team
Back on Tiger Sharks this year. I can't say enough good things about this program.
And by then, Maisy will be down in the pool too instead of watching from the stands.
Swim fishy, swim!
Maisy took lessons from Coach Murphy again. She is turning into such a brave little fish.
Afton has gotten a bit more competitive with her swimming. It is fun to see how much she has improved from last year.
5th place in Butterfly!

Fourth of July
We celebrated the 4th of July at my mom's house. We cooked out and swam with cousins.

Dallas Arboretum : Rory Meyers Children's Garden
The Dallas Arboretum finally has a place just for kids. We explored the children's garden, which is essentially an outdoor museum with Mimi and the Porter girls.
We lucked out with some cloudy weather, making our July visit comfortable and pleasant. There were beautiful gardens mixed in with lots of kid-friendly hands on activities.
