The fair came to town-- and so we went. Grandpa and Grandma joined us. There were lots of yummy eats, rides, and cold drinks.

When I Afton came downstairs yesterday she told me I looked taller. Am I finally hitting my growth spurt at 34?!
Wishing for another great year :)

Maisy's Dance Recital 2014
This is Maisy's second year to dance with Ms. Joann. She loves her class, the music and of course all the dancing :) Her costume this year was the most beautiful shade of purple. They danced to two songs from Veggie Tales. I love that her teacher incorporates Christian music into the class. Maisy did a great job!
Way to go Maisy!
Since this was her second year to dance with Ms Joann, Maisy was awarded a dance medal.
Afterwards she was met by her fans-- Grammy, Afton, Grandpa, Grandma, Daddy and Mommy :)
Way to go Maisy!

Jonah's Druthers
Afton and Maisy have been going to choir every Wednesday night since January. With Jeff traveling more, it has been a good way to break up the week. Plus the girls love to eat dinner at the church and then go sing with their church friends. Afton's choir spent the semester working a musical called "Jonah's Druthers". It's a Texas tale about Jonah. Instead of going into a whale, this Texas version puts Jonah in a 'w-ell' (pronounced with a southern twang!)
Afton went through a formal audtition and was cast as the "Carnival Barker". She played a shady carnival empolyee from the city of sinners Nineveh. She also was part of the chorus and sang the whole way through.
She was happy to be on stage and I thought that she might never hand the microphone back! She told me next time, she wants more lines :)

Happy Mother's Day 2014
Mother's Day celebrations started Friday evening and lasted all weekend! On Friday, Jeff and the girls took me to PF Changs for dinner. Afton and Maisy got me a sweet 'mom' necklace as well as some new workout clothes and 5lb weights. (They know me well!)
On Saturday, we had my Mom over for pizza. Becka was in town with Molly and the girls loved playing with her!
Happy Mother's Day to all !

Soccer for Maisy
Maisy has a new sport, soccer. And a sport like soccer is only fun if you have a really good coach. Luckily we found one ... and this group of 6 girls have had the best season as "Unicorns". They are all newbies to the sport, but what they lack in skill they made up for in bounciness :)
The end of season party was held at a 'dine in' moving theater. The girls watched the new Tinkerbelle movie, ate popcorn-pizza-and-cupcakes, and got trophies! Each girl was given a special 'certificate' too- Maisy won the "Soccer Princess Award" ;)
It was a great season and we are hoping to get everyone together again, under the direction of Coach Jeff, and have another run as the Unicorns ;)
