February has flown by. For Valentines Day, the Kindergarten classes at Afton's school put on a "Valentine's Tea" complete with a little dancing. The kids learned a few steps of the Waltz, the Tango, the Chicken Dance, the Hand Jive and even some YMCA. All the kids came dressed in their 'best clothes'.
After the dancing, they practiced their best manners and ate mini-fondu
and other sweet treats. Her teacher made the party so special and fancy.
Maisy was thrilled when Afton came home from school with a box full of candy-- especially because Afton was so willing to share her treats!
Yesterday, Afton had her first soccer game of the season. This is our second try for soccer, and so far, things are looking good. Her team name is the Tazmaniacs. They practice for an hour a week and then have a game every Saturday. The kids on the team on are fun and her coach is really great. Our friend Greta is on the team too.
Maisy has been enjoying soccer as well- especially because of the playground that is right next to the field :)
There is nothing better than fresh air, sunshine, and fun. Go Tazmaniacs!

Mardi Gras 2012
Louisiana keeps calling our name, so just like last year, we made the drive across 'the border' to attend a Mardi Gras parade. Jeff's boss and his wife were riding in Centaur and they were kind enough to invite us participate in all the festivities. It worked out great because we were also able to spend time with Becka and Josh!
This year we had our own spot on the parade route- complete with a potty :) We were joined by Jeff's family, his co-workers, and my sister too.
The weather was a bit cold, but we did our best to stay warm. And once the parade actually began, everyone forgot about the low temperatures.
Afton really got into collecting stuffed animals, beads and cups.
Maisy wasn't so sure about the parade. Once she got the mini-umbrella, she didn't really want anything else!
Everyone had a blast, we were thrilled to spend time with Becka and Josh, and plans are already underway to do it again next year. Let the good times roll!
